It is with deep sorrow that we inform the untimely demise of our beloved PMMA Superintendent, VICE ADMIRAL RICHARD U RITUAL, on January 11, 2019. His remains lie in state at Hall A, Arlington Memorial Chapel, Araneta Avenue, Quezon City. He will be transferred to the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy in San Narciso, Zambales on Wednesday morning, January 16. Viewing at PMMA will start on Wednesday evening until Friday night.

Departure honors will be held on Saturday, January 19 at 0600H, to be followed by a mass at the San Sebastián Parish in San Narciso at 0700H. Right after the mass, he will be brought to his final resting place at the Holy Cross Memorial Park in Quirino Highway, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Let us all pray for the eternal repose of his soul, for the bereaved family to cope with these trying times and for the PMMA Family to be united over the loss of a great leader.

The PMMA Superintendent, VADM RICHARD U RITUAL, PMMA hereby congratulates the 4,490 successful examinees among the 8,974 hopeful applicants of the 2018 Philippine Merchant Marine Academy Entrance Examination held on 29 September 2018 simultaneously in 37 testing centers nationwide.

In compliance with CHED Administrative Order No. 02 Series of 2016, the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy will be holding its first-ever Consultative Meeting with Stakeholders on March 29, 2016. Representatives from the PMMA Alumni Association, the PMMA Employees’ Association, and the Corps of Midshipmen have been invited to participate in this momentous event. The Consultative Meeting is expected to gather feedback, inputs, suggestions and recommendations to eventually determine priority projects to be implemented in 2017. This historic undertaking, a part of the Bottom-Up Budgeting (BUB) program of the Philippine Government, will integrate the inputs of the Academy’s valued stakeholders, with the visions of the PMMA Administration.
