This course is practical and theoretical, and consists of a series of exercises performed on a ship handling simulator and class room conducive for learning. Theoretical backgrounds are provided to acquaint the participants with the learning objectives and environment. It is five (5) days course which will enhance the knowledge and skills of the trainees in the proper techniques in ship handling and maneuvering of ship under normal and emergency situations. The trainees wishing to enter this course should have a minimum of six months watchkeeping experience as officer in-charge of a navigational watch.
